Construction status of the main transport pipeline Plazulje-Potocari in Brcko

The implementation of one of the largest infrastructure projects in the field of water supply in BiH is underway, namely the construction of the main transport pipeline Plazulje–Potocari in Brcko. The contract between the Government of the Brčko District and the contractor Unioninvest d.d. Sarajevo was signed in 2024, and the value of the project is over 13 million euros. The project is financed by a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
Despite the numerous challenges accompanying the works, approx. 13 km of dactyl GTC DN500 and DN400 mm NP16, 2.4 km of PE100 pipelines DN400 and DN355 mm NP10, reconstruction of the existing pumping station (PS) Plazulje and the construction of the Potočari reservoir have been completed so far.
A total of 28 sub-drillings and 7 laying under watercourses were carried out along the route of the GTC.
Work is currently underway on the branch from the GTC DN500 dactyl to PE100 225 mm towards Grbavica, the GTC pipeline and junctions at the Omerbegovača branch, AB works on shafts, as well as artisanal works on the Potočari reservoir.
